Stop Buying Avocados. Here’s How to Grow an Avocado Tree in a Small Pot at Home!

With its numerous health benefits, it is no wonder why avocado became wildly popular and part of practically every modern healthy diet.

This amazing fruit is abundant with vitamins including vitamin C, K, e, B5, B6, potassium, etc. Moreover, avocado is a great source of fiber. According to a number of studies, avocado contains a fatty acid, similar to those contained in olive oil, known as “heart healthy”.

Avocado can be included in almost any dish, so it is your choice how you will consume it.

Today, we will present you some methods how to grow avocados in your own home. The procedure is easy and includes several simple steps. And, the best thing is that growing avocados do not require having a backyard!

1. Sprout avocado seed

You should take 1 avocado seed and stick 4 toothpicks into it. Make sure that the toothpicks are placed halfway down from the top and at the same distance and utilize well.

Then, place the avocado seed in a cup of water but make sure to soak its dimpled end in an inch of water. Keep the seed soaked for 2-6 weeks in a warm place, and not exposed to a direct sunlight.

During these weeks, the roots and stem will sprout. When the stem is 6-inch long, cut it back to 3 inches. It is of high importance to allow the leaves to grow and the roots to thicken.

2. Time to plant
You should take 10-inch diameter pot filled with nutrient-rich soil and make a small hole in the soil center. Carefully plant the seed, and make sure that its roots are in the soil and half of it is exposed.
